Variant 1: Sew on the breast pocket
The easiest way to personalize your shirt is to simply sew on a breast pocket made of your favorite fabric. You can use a simple basic shirt for this or you can sew it yourself and the breast pocket is an absolute eye-catcher!
1. Draw the template
First, draw a template for a breast pocket. You are free to choose shape and size. Some styles for shirts also contain templates for breast pockets, which you can use as a guide. Do not forget to plan a seam allowance of 0,7-1,0 cm.
2. Cut the pocket
Cut the bag in the break so that you have the bag in front of you almost twice, but they are connected at the upper edge (break).
3. Put the bag together
Fold the bag in half and put it right sides together.
4. Sew the bag together
Sew the bag together with a 1 cm seam allowance. Leave a turning opening of 3-5 cm open on one side.
5. Shorten the seam allowance and turn
Cut the seam allowance back to just before the seam, leaving out the area with the reversible opening so that it will be easier to close the opening later.
6. Attach the bag
Put the pocket on your shirt. Here you can freely choose the position. You decide whether on the right or left breast, whether straight or slightly oblique.
7. Sew on the bag
Sew the bag close to the edge with a simple straight stitch, and you close the opening at the same time. Lock the seam well at the beginning and end.
Done!
Variant 2: mix of patterns
1. Cutting
Split your pattern for the front and back pieces anywhere you want. I opted for a cut in the middle. Cut your fabrics accordingly. Make sure that a seam allowance of 1 cm must be added to the cut edge.
2. Put the pattern pieces together

4. Quilting
Briefly iron the edge you have just sewn and then stitch it close to the edge. The seam allowance looks towards the neckline.
Again, should you use a stretchy stitch, or how about a pretty decorative stitch? Be sure to try out a sample beforehand.
Ready
Sew your shirt according to the instructions for your cut. Make sure that when you close the side seams, the edges meet directly.
